Brief and project description

Structural Helical Stairs

Description: This project involved the fabrication and installation of a bespoke structural steel spiral staircase for the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), located in Dublin. Steel steps encased in a steel body including a steel soffit.

Manufactured in our workshop in Johnstown, Kilkenny and delivered to site. Then lifted into position by crane.

The result: A striking, architecturally integral feature that combines structural performance with fine detailing, exemplifying the capabilities of precision metalwork in a modern institutional setting.

Stair Balustrade

20mm solid bar infills with a continuous timber handrail. Base plate following the steps. Balustrade fixed to precast concrete stairs.

Glass Balustrade

21.5mm freestanding glass on internal balconies.
